Hi,

I'm trying to link an image from virtual earth.

In Manifold's documentation it is said that "ISI drivers by 3rd party" are required for that operations.

I'm searching the internet but couldn't find any.

For example:

I've googled the following: "isi driver" -manifold +gis

But received only <10 results (which were non-relevant)

Advice?

Don't miss reading the recommended Help topics where this is discussed. For example, the tutorial topic explicitly discusses the starterpak.zip file.

I have read the tutorial chapter "Exporting KML to Google Earth"

I have downloaded and installed "StarterPak.zip"

When I try to open "US Base Map.map" it gives "unknown error"

When I try to link an image to any of those:

Google maps street map image / manifold ims website / virtual earth satelite image / etc ...

it gives various errors of that nature:

- can't connect to server

- Url http://mt.google.com/mt?v=w2.5&x=0&y=0&zoom=17. The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.

- Url http://a0.ortho.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/a0.jpg?g=1. Can't obtain image from server. The remote name could not be resolved: 'a0.ortho.tiles.virtualearth.net'

Is there anything else I can do?

Just so I can be sure - all the interfaces to mapping servers are currently known to be malfunctioning ?

No, they are working for me. Just checked both VE Street and Satellite, and they are working.

Sorry, I can't give you any technical things to check. I did notice that my VE Satellite url was:

http://a*.ortho.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/

Seems to be different than yours. For the VE street map substitude r* for the a*.

Hello.

The error related to "Url http://mt.google.com/mt?v=w2.5&x=0&y=0&zoom=17." happens because the google server version has changed. I believe that they dont use the "w2.5" anymore, so please search around the forum because this issue was already discussed here. If you cant get any information that helps you around here, you'll need to google it or go to the G. E. foruns and the it may be found (i hope)

The error related to virtual earth never happen to me, so please make sure you have the latest version of the starterpack.zip

Regards.
