I created a button to generate PDF map from the extent of the current map in screen of IMS. But if I want to download the pdf Map or open the pdf Map in window, how can I check whether the exporting is complete?

If the map is large, the exporting may take several minutes even half hour. If the exporting is not complete, downloading or opening the pdf map will be fail. How to solve this problem? Thank you.
