Can I get a tally of:

1. Who would be interested in attending a conference in Ontario (probably Owen Sound or Hamilton Area)

2. Who wants to present at the conference

3. Whether you want it before the Maryland Conference or after.

Thanks,

G.

Thanks for running with this, Gloria.

I am interested and would even host it. However, because its nature will be outside of C.A. business I may not get approval. Perhaps there is someone else more suited to hosting?

I would like to present, but don't have an immediate topic.

I'm thinking sometime in March to mid April may be good timing.

Ok I've been given approval to host the conference either here at the Grey Sauble Office or elsewhere if the numbers are large enough.

I'm wondering about sometime during the summer, but we might be able to swing April.

Also, if there a good numbers would Manifold be able to send a rep?

Sounds like a great idea. I'm from the Planning Department at the District School Board of Niagara (St. Catharines, Ontario). I've recently introduced Manifold to GIS users at other school boards in Ontario. There seems to be growing interest in Manifold within that group. I will pass your survey along to see if other school board reps. would be interested in attending. Thank you.

rstark introduced me to Manifold at our School Board GIS users meeting in November. I am just about to purchase it for our Board (ESRI users currently) and would love to attend an Ontario users meeting - count me in. April sounds good. Cheers.

I would definitely be interested in a conference in ON

I would send management and technical staff to cover both development and user perspectives

Some Canadian user perspective would be most welcome

Sorry for volunteering you Gloria - well not so sorry since you decided to run with it

  1. I'll go either location. Hamilton is central to many but Owen Sound is nicer (sorry Hamilton).
  2. I will present. I could come up with a few interesting topics.
  3. If we go before, let's get some snow and perhaps hit the slopes. If we go after (my preference) lets wait until its hot so we can go to the beach or at least sit around outside and have a drink or two.

If you get the idea I think this event should have a big dose of socialing, you're right!

Hi

Sounds like a fantastic idea. AquaResource will certainly have a couple of attendees. We will present and may consider some type of sponsorship. We are using Manifold on source protection projects all across southern ontario and this may be of interest to Ontario people.

No preference for dates really.

Cheers

That's great news Dave! I meant to contact you and got really busy... glad you volunteered.

I think we're going to have to push the conference to the summer (due to time constraints). How do June or July sound? Hopefully early next week we will formulate a list of contacts and send out a broadcast email.

Still hoping someone from Manifold will attend!

We were concerned about that as well, so we're hoping to set a date SOON so that people can potentially work around the conference dates.

Hi Folks,

I am very interested in attending something like this. One time slot to avoid is June 8-11, the municipalities have their annual MISA conference during that time. All the IT/GIS nerds usually attend. We have six or so users within our municipality in Niagara. I could bring a couple along.

Thanks,

Kelly

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking the end of June might be best. A few of us will be convening shortly (hopefully next week) to nail down the date.

thanks

Sorry about that. We've been having trouble trying to find time to get together on this. We're probably looking at July. I will fill you in as soon as we have it set.

Hi Gloria,

Please count me in.

I'm fairly new to Manifold - so I would like to just attend the first conference.

Owen Sound would be a preferred location.

Thank-you for your efforts,

Likely mid to late July. We are meeting on Friday to organize and have the venue and date confirmed. We're also still looking to confirm presenters so that we can decide on whether it will be one day or two.

Well, it's an option. My english knowledge is good enough to do a presentation. I'll be able to show the IMS application I'm building now and to talk about IMS customization. I think 15 minutes will be enough for me.
