Last week, working in another area, I did the very same Assign Projection Steps with MTM8 without any Problems. The Assign Projection windows values as well as the XML files after Assigning to MTM7 are both identical in their value but the shifting occured. Could it be an internal processing error within Manifold ?

I also notice in the Assign Projection window that, when importing MTM7 Shapefiles made with Arcpad, it opened it in Cylindrical-Transverse Mercator instead of MTM7, all other values being equal ! Again, last week, with the same operation using MTM8, it open it with the right informations.

Any suggestion ?

RE: Assign Projection Problems COuld it be Manifold ?

The Assign projection window is there to tells Manifold in which projection is the imported data. The projection displayed there after the import have no guarantee to be good. It is your task to set it right.

After, and only after, you can use the Change Projection dialog to project in another coordinate system.

RE: Assign Projection Problems COuld it be Manifold ?

Much Thanks, problem solved Vincent

Denis
