I was trying to learn about/setup a demo of multi-user editing. All I have access to is SQL Server 2000 and MDB geodabase files.

It appears I can use multi-user editing of a sort but I don't get any conflict notifications.

Do I need a more advance server to get notifications?

You should get conflict notifications as soon as you attempt to edit an object which has been changed by someone else. If you link a component and then someone edits an object, there are no conflicts until you edit the same object.

If this does not appear to work:

Are you using SQL Server 2000 or are you using MDB? If you are using SQL Server 2000, are you connecting via ODBC or via OLE DB?

In one test I am linking to a drawing stored in an MDB. I have two instances of Manifold running on the same PC both linked to the same drawing in the MDB. I do not get notices for attribute or geometry changes.

I have been able to reproduce the problem. This is a bug. We will fix it.
